A ROCKING COLLAB SET FOR THE MARRIOTT BALLITO BEATS CONCERT WITH ARNO CARSTENS & ARD MATTHEWS.
They’re back! Two of South Africa’s legendary rock voices will join forces at the Marriott Ballito Beats concert this August for another unique set of musical favourites, on-stage antics and fun-filled entertainment. Ballito fans… get set to welcome Arno Carstens and Ard Matthews back to the neighbourhood!
On 11 August 2019, the beautiful open lawns of Sugar Rush Park on the KZN North Coast will fill up with the sounds of happy families coming together to enjoy a great day out. The Marriott Ballito Beats concert gives locals the opportunity to venture out to one of Ballito’s favourite family-focused destinations, to enjoy all the activities and entertainment on offer.
From wide open spaces for little ones to explore and parents to relax in picnic-style, secure parking, refreshment and food services to a cheerful kids’ zone, complete with steam train rides, jungle gyms, monkey bars, petting zoo and more… the wonderful Sugar Rush Park caters for everyone. Throw in a handful of great music acts and you’ve got all you need for the perfect family outing.
MUSICIANS
With a combined musical expertise that spans 35 years, Ard and Arno are known worldwide for their unique voices and roguishly fun stage presence. Ard Matthews originally as the frontman for Just Jinjer, and Arno Carstens as the lead singer for The Springbok Nude Girls – both of which dominated the SA music scene during the 90s.
Their music and fame live long on after those early days of debut singles, with both artists now enjoying solo careers. Arno Carstens has released six albums as a solo artist and performed at some of the most legendary and exclusive music festivals around the world.
In 2012, Ard Matthews released his debut solo album to critical acclaim and continues to perform as both a solo act as well as the frontman for Just Jinjer, with many well-known and talented musicians joining him on stage.
The Marriott Ballito Beats Music Series will once again offer the North Coast community an opportunity to see award-winning acts performing right in their very own backyard – adding fresh and exciting entertainment to the Ballito social scene.
TICKETS
Tickets are limited to only 2 000 and are available via webtickets.co.za. Early bird tickets cost R130, general access costs R150, kids between 8-12 years of age cost R80 and Kids U8 are R20.
Gates open at 1pm and ticket holders are welcome to bring camping chairs and picnic blankets to make the most of the beautiful setting at Sugar Rush Park. Food and beverages can be bought on-site, alternatively, picnic baskets are allowed, but no beverages will be allowed onto the site.
