My Name is Londeka and I’m a mother to a beautiful two-year-old by the name Yandeyamintokozo – which if you translate her name in Isizulu means “may my joy overflow”.
I believe a child comes into your life and fills the space in your heart that you never thought was empty – especially in my case, because when I found out I was pregnant, at that time in my life career-wise I was too invested, especially because I had recently got a promotion at work for a position that needed me to be full on and focused. So for me at that time, I felt like it was a setback. I would wonder to myself how would I cope – until my princess came to the world on 7 October 2016. My whole world changed; this little human brought so much love and joy into my life. She is a fun-loving, energetic being and she teaches me so much about my characteristics that I was not aware of. She challenges me to be a better person each and every day.
In 2017 I got retrenched from my job since the company was not doing so well, so financially I was not in a good space – but looking at her smile every day would give me hope that everything was going to be ok. With the help of my family, especially my mom Lungile and step-dad Muzi and Yandes father Lerata, I pulled through.
Looking back, this taught me there is a reason and timing for everything that happens in our lives – nothing happens by chance. Whatever happens, was meant to happen and whatever time in your life it happens at, is just how it was meant to be. So looking back now I’m actually so thankful that she arrived at that particular time in my life because right now she is such a joy in our lives!
MY JOY WITH HER IS INDEED OVERFLOWING as her name says!
