February 25, 2011. Given a brand new look by our stalwart, hot shot designer Kyle Griffin, look out for the latest edition of The Ridge magazine. Distribution of issue 46 begins early next week.
Looming large in this edition is a comprehensive feature on the booming Ridgeside development on prime land on Umhlanga Ridge. The big name players have flocked to this site – described as the jewel in the Tongaat Hulett Developments crown – which will no doubt boost Umhlanga Ridge’s reputation as THE place to do business.
Our cover feature is on Umdloti animal healer extraordinaire Cara Wade, who is doing amazing things with injured and ailing animals. Sport is in the mix, as the athletic pursuit of trail running slowly starts flexing its muscles. Look out for our interview with trail running fanatic Buzz Bolton.
Meet La Lucia paramedic Taryn Purchase, someone who can truly say, “I saved a life today”, while we also look at the living legacy of Erica Goss, a woman who did so much for the communities around Mount Edgecombe. The memory of Erica is being kept alive by the continuation of her inspiring community work.
Returning to the sports side of things, Candice Botha chatted to Sunningdale’s Lara McLeod, Marketing and Communications Manager of the Moses Mabhida stadium, about her return to South Africa and landing her dream job.
Food, food and more food . . . expert advice on wine from our team of John and Erica Platter, the latest in drop-dead-gorgeous motoring, homes, art, books, travel, pictures from the top events around town . . . what more could you ask for?
And the final word? That would be the “Last Word” from our top columnist Gavin Foster. It’s all in issue 46 of The Ridge magazine.
Enjoy!

A dog on the cover?
You’re going to love this edition. Promise.
Well, considering The Ridge is a community magazine – by the people, for the people – I think that the dog on the cover is quite appropriate and really sweet actually. Carra Wade is a person from the area and she’s known for being an animal healer.
The picture is cute 🙂
