Let’s do good together #ServingSinakekele
Sinakekele is a home for orphaned and abandoned babies aged 0 to 3, which is located 40 minutes outside of Durban. This Saturday, 5th September 2015, a 60-seater bus has been organised by Street Scene to take volunteers to the home. They will also receive bottled water and a healthy lunch.
Here are some of the tasks volunteers will be tackling:
- Tending to the babies
- Removal of alien Syninga trees
- Painting of main building – interior and exterior
- Prepping and painting wooden shed
- Painting of laundry
- Repairing cracked walls
- Continuing with labelling & sorting the library
- Working on the veggie garden
- Extending the jungle gym/tree house
- Mural on revolving graffiti wall
There are 40 spaces left on the bus, which will leave from a central point in Durban, with the help of some awesome companies to transport, provide tools, feed and hydrate you such as Beset Durban, Eat Your Home, Love Coffee, and It’s Not Made in China.
All Street Scene needs from you is a few hours of your time and a R200 donation. This donation will go directly to the purchase of tools, paint, etc to use on the day with all and any change left over going directly to Sinakekele Children’s home to be used as is most needed.
