I’m sure that most, if not all, of you who were at the Top Gear Festival this past weekend will agree that it was an INCREDIBLE experience!
From the stunt school and Monster bike stunt team, to the gorgeous super cars and grand old vintage cars, there was plenty to see in the Action and Exhibition Zones alone.
Then there was the Street Circuit – the WesBank Series where we got to see some of South Africa’s best motor racing talent; super car grudge matches; a minibus taxi on two wheels; a parade of F1 cars from the 1920s to modern day; and, as a diehard F1 fan, my personal favourite, the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 car! The sound of it gave me goosebumps from head to toe!
The Live Stadium Show featuring the Top Gear presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, had the audience laughing and cheering from the moment they drove out in their super cars. It was non-stop action from start to finish – Top Gear stunt drivers amazed us with their skill; James challenged the others to a game of curling; Richard was the human ball in tenpin bowling; the Stig refused to leave the stage after winning the chariot race; there were cars on fire; a guy leaping nose-to-tail over a car; England took on South Africa in a game of “footie”; and the grand finale – the Deadly 720!
What more can I say? ROLL ON 2013!
