Preparations are underway for Gateway’s 8th annual Vodacom Durban July Preview Fashion Show and Concert which takes place on Saturday 25th June 2016 – one week prior to race-day. This unprecedented celebration of fashion and music takes place at the Wavehouse and will feature a host of top SA Designers and performers. Those attending can look forward to a race-day fashion extravaganza as well as a concert featuring Kyle Deutsch, Shekhinah, Sketchy Bongo, Jimmy Nevis, Timo ODV and Ryan the DJ.
According to Tiffany Prior, the Fashion Programme Director of the Vodacom Durban July, ‘’This year’s theme ‘Leader of the Pack’ has a very strong reference to a deck of cards, which has a long, colourful and interesting history. Designers are using the theme quite creatively and in a subtle and stylish way. However, there are also leading key words and phrases within the theme, which each designer or race day on-track entrants must keep in mind. It’s about fashion finesse, absolute class, a subtle touch of glitz, good taste, styling and flair. The theme should not be interpreted to be theatrical, but rather think fashion, trend and above all, create a look that is race day appropriate’’.
This event will feature collections from the VDJ Fashion Challenge, Invited Designer Showcase as well as key Gateway retailers revealing their interpretation of this year’s theme!
