Wardrobe Basics

By Mums Mail Magazine14/05/20182 Mins Read

Do you have a cupboard full of clothing and nothing to wear? Are dress codes confusing and the never-ending fashion trends each season making your head spin? Does this sound familiar? Or can you relate to the “What do I wear today” question? Thank goodness The Chata Romano Style System® and wardrobe planning is available to assist us. It is an easy to understand system which looks at your individual body shape from head-to-toe. Once you’ve introduced yourself to the real you, you’ll be ready for the “style solutions”, a helpful set of guidelines you can refer to when assessing the clothing in your wardrobe or shopping. It helps you understand which dress code best suits your lifestyle and how to add a few items to your wardrobe of the latest trends.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • None of us has the same body shape. We are all different heights, weights etc. hence it is important to understand our individual body lengths and proportions.
  • The same as fashions come and go, hemlines rise and fall, and our body could also change shape. It is therefore important to know and update your figure analysis to understand why a style will work for you or not.
  • Accept that not all styles will suit you and it is vital to have your garments fitting correctly.
  • It is not unusual to be one size on the top half of your body and another on the bottom half. This can be a challenge when shopping for an off-the-hanger outfit to fit you. There’s another way – buy the bigger size and then alter for a perfect fit.
  • If splitting sizes doesn’t work, add an important new word to your style vocabulary – “alterations!”. Buy the bigger size and have the item altered to the correct fit. This is key to looking one size smaller.
