On arrival, you are welcomed by happy and joyous song. On your way to the lodge, after being collected by one of the knowledgeable rangers, you may already have encountered numerous species of wildlife during the short drive to the lodge.
Your day at Umzolozolo will begin in the wee hours of the morning as the dawn begins its gradual and lazy awakening. After the lull of a restful night’s sleep, a new and exciting day awaits you.
Once you have set out on your first morning safari, you will be astonished by the mythical and magical beauty of the dawn breaking over the African landscape, exciting times as the big cats are either feeding off their nights kill or lapping water after a successful hunt.
After returning from your safari there is the aroma of breakfast with a delightful selection of fruits, cereals, pastries and the option of hot breakfasts – always accompanied by steaming plunger coffee or the like.
Once you have had an elegant sufficiency it is time to relax and savour the vista either from the deck and rim flow pool or from the Tulana Spa where the therapists await. They will melt away the stress of life’s day to day living, affording you a pamper well deserved. Not only can they massage away your taught muscles, they will happily massage tired feet and treat you to a pedicure or perhaps a splash of colour with a manicure. A refreshing facial could be the order of the day.
Later in the afternoon, after a decadent High Tea conjured up by their passionate Chefs, it will be time to head back to see what the bush has to offer. Once again, you will be enthralled with the excitement and anticipation of what you may see and just how insignificant we, as humans are in comparison.
While out experiencing the wonders of nature, stretch your legs and sip on a Sundowner, captivated by the sounds of the bush as insects introduce the setting of the sun. Perhaps a Spotted Hyena may call or a lion roar; announcing the end of a beautiful day in Africa.
Once back at the lodge a warm fire and ambience will entice you to share memories and stories of the day’s sightings with pre-dinner drinks before making your way to dinner for a delicious four-course meal while sipping red wine or another beverage of your fancy; thus winding down.
